If so, as a Project Superintendent at SR Construction, you will drive operational excellence in the day-to-day of our multi-million dollar construction projects. You will be responsible to help us deliver on spec, on time, on budget projects that exceed client expectations. If you’re a talented superintendent who is comfortable with the buck stopping with you, we will provide you support and backup but not micromanagement. Specifically, you will:
Work Procurement:
- Participate in the marketing effort by making contacts, maintaining a network of possible clients and project leads.
- Participate in proposal preparations, interview presentations, and constructability processes.
- Participate in determining sequence activity duration on schedules for proposed projects.
- Looks for project leads.
Client Loyalty:
- Understand and communicate to all field personnel the owner’s goals regarding construction.
- Maintains positive relationships with the Owners, Architects, Program Managers, and Inspectors throughout the project(s).
Pre-Construction:
- Provide technical expertise throughout the Pre-Construction process.
- Participate in the Constructability Review and Value Engineering suggestions.
- Develop site logistics plan.
- Team approach in the development and management of the Pre-Construction Schedule with Project Manager.
Safety:
- Ensure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and Sub-Contractors while working with the safety support personnel as a resource. Continually strives for zero injuries on all projects.
- Be a part of on-site safety meetings.
- Report Jobsite incidents/accidents in a timely manner.
- Watch for and correct all safety hazards at the Jobsite. Report all safety incidents to safety personnel.
Planning:
- Review the plans, mock-up details, and specifications for constructability, water intrusion and advise the project team of issues or deficiencies prior to installation of work.
- Participate in the BIM coordination by using prior construction knowledge.
- Understand project estimate and budget setup.
- Understand sub-contractor and supplier contract scopes and participate in a buyout.
- Assist in quantity takeoff and pricing estimates.
- Prepare, manage, and update the detailed project schedule with quantities, sequence, and activity duration including procurement items with the project team.
- Establish the punch list process and close-out procedures with the Project Manager, Owner, and Architect.
- Schedules and procures tools, materials, and equipment necessary for the project.
- Ability to layout with a total station, GPS, and tape measure and verify Sub-Contractor’s layout.
- Mentor and train other employees as necessary.
Qualified candidates will have proven experience in:
- Have experience with Lean Construction and Pull Planning.
- High School and completion of Vocational School a plus, College Degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements.
- Minimum of five years related experience or the equivalent role (Commercial, Hospitality, and Healthcare construction experience preferred.
