We serve the residents of Hamilton County in more ways than you may realize! As the Budget Analyst 3 at Hamilton County, you will take on a crucial position in the agency's financial management. Your responsibilities encompass actively contributing to the budgetary process, offering expert analysis, providing support to Budget Analysts 1 & 2, and ensuring adherence to fiscal policies. This role entails close collaboration with agency officials, thorough analysis of budget requests, report preparation, and meticulous maintenance of accurate financial records. Additionally, as a Budget Analyst 3, you will play a critical role in coordinating responses to budgetary inquiries and fostering effective communication among diverse stakeholders.
Summary of Job Duties:
- Consult with management regarding budgetary needs, possible budget cuts, departmental objectives.
- Analyzes agency budget requests and prepares final budget recommendations for review by supervisor.
- Serves as liaison between Director and officials in dealing with fiscal matters.
- Coordinates timely responses to budgetary inquiries made by the three Commissioners and/or County Administrator.
- Reviews and assists in preparing monthly and annual financial summary reports for submittal to Board for analysis.
- Prepares summary reports reflecting expenditures vs. appropriations to update Board concerning budget activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Course work in public finance, financial management, public policy, economics or accounting
- 3 years’ experience
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience which indicates a thorough knowledge of budgeting and public accounting.
- Demonstrable ability to prepare and maintain complex financial reports.

- 40 Hour Work Week, generally between core hours of 7:30-5:30
