Budget Manager manages and coordinates budgeting activities and the implementation of the organization's budget policies and guidelines. Monitors actual performance against estimates and prepares annual and interim budgets. Being a Budget Manager coordinates budget appropriations and responds to exception requests for funds. Monitors and analyzes performance against budgets. Additionally, Budget Manager implements and supports tools and reporting used for planning, forecasting, monitoring, and decision support. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting. Typically reports to a director. The Budget Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Budget Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Responsibilities

    • Audit, analyze and troubleshoot issues with purchase orders, invoices and expense reports.  
    • Assist in preparing forecasts for the regional office from data supplied by field locations.
    • Under direct supervision, provide support and assistance to financial analysts in efforts to update department forecast model functionality for requested changes to enhance capability, increase efficiency and update for current business practices and structure utilizing advanced software capabilities.
    • Initiate field capital projects and submit for approval.
    • In conjunction with financial analysts, review variance and other financial analysis on forecast and actual data including, but not limited to, comparisons to prior forecasts and yearly comparisons.
    • Draft reports for review and preparation for management and business unit personnel.
    • Assist in the business planning process by supporting timely completion of data and analysis needs of department personnel.
    • Proficient with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and presentation application (working knowledge of Oracle financial platform is preferred).
