Budgeting Supervisor oversees the review of expenditures and preparation of operating budgets for various departments to ensure conformance to budgetary limits. Facilitates the analysis of overruns/underruns, actual spending and revenue, and prepares a variety of statistical reports. Being a Budgeting Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Requirements / Qualifications
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, assists in the planning, organization, and coordination of the District's accounting, budgeting, fiscal planning, financial reporting, payroll operations, and development and administration of the District budget; directs and supervises assigned personnel in the performance of ongoing budget functions; conducts complex financial analyses and prepares financial reports; has full responsibility in the absence of the director; performs related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, business administration or a closely related field supplemented by courses in technology and systems.
At least three years of financial planning / administration experience, preferably in a public agency, requiring the preparation and analysis of financial plans and budgets; and supervision of accounting staff. Such experience should be in an organization with an annual General Fund budget of at least $30 Million. School district experience with multiple funds is highly desirable.
