Business Continuity Manager leads the implementation and supports the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Business Continuity Manager leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Business Continuity Manager supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Continuity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Continuity Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     About our Internship Program:

    The Summer Internship Program is a unique and challenging 10-week experience for diverse, talented, high-performing individuals interested in different aspects of the financial and technology industry. Contingent upon business needs, performance and completion of degree, our internship serves as a pipeline to our full-time early-career program EDGE.

    The impact you will have in this role:

    The Business Continuity (BC) team is responsible for preparing the organization to respond to events that interrupt business so that critical business functions continue within specified timeframes. Critical functions are broadly defined as activities that directly and indirectly serve clients, protect assets and records, and maintain DTCC's reputation. 

    The Business Continuity Intern should be ready to apply knowledge of business practices and processes in a fast-paced, real-world environment. The intern will assist in supporting tasks set by various teams under Business Continuity, including analyzing and organizing area data and content, performing research, and making recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency. This will be a valuable experience for any student pursuing a career in business administration, risk management, and/or resiliency within the financial services industry.

    Qualifications:

    • Candidates must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in the following curriculums: Business, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, MIS, Technology Management, or any other related field 
    • Candidates must have authorization to work permanently in the US without the need for sponsorship (now or in the future)
    • Candidates must have minimum of a 3.2 GPA upon graduation

    Talents Needed for Success:

    • Must demonstrate superior analytical and communication skills 
    • Strong interest in the financial services industry, with previous internship experience a plus 
    • Knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, charts, and dashboards
    • Project management, presentation development, influencing, and public speaking skills

    Recruitment Timeline:

    • August – October 2023: Engage with us virtually and apply to our jobs

    • February – June 2024: Engage with our colleagues as you close out your school year
    • June 2024: Start the Summer Intern Program!
