Business Process Optimization Manager manages teams that study and develop optimization changes to an organization's business processes to improve operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability. Conducts research on best practices and industry trends for the business. Being a Business Process Optimization Manager oversees the in-depth analysis of existing workflows. Utilizes flowcharts and process maps to define existing processes and identify areas needing improvement. Additionally, Business Process Optimization Manager engages and organizes subject matter experts and cross-functional groups to collect inputs. Implements the tools required to collect and measure relevant data, identify key performance indicators (KPI), and produce a data-driven analysis of critical functions. Introduces new business processes to the organization and produces documentation, tools, and training to support adoption. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Process Optimization Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Process Optimization Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Bulk Commodity Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing Bulk Commodity Strategic Sourcing Plans and supplier management for all Nevada Gold Mines sites.  Works collaboratively with site Supply Managers and key stakeholders to align sourcing strategy with mine plans and budgets.  Responsible for implementation, continuous improvement and execution of Nevada Gold Mines purchasing strategy, policies and guidelines to drive shared goals and objectives across the entire Supply Chain. Communicates purchasing vision and builds strong working relationships internally with peers at sites and region and externally with suppliers. Enhances Nevada Gold Mines overall purchasing capability through continuous improvement and development of the organization.  Supports the team in identifying and capturing new site spend areas to add value and drive cost savings.

    Responsibilities:

    • Primarily focused on the management of the Bulks sourcing and procurement team, responsible for the execution of service and material contracts and purchasing for like categories as well as the development of key relationships both internally and externally. 
    • Lead and mobilize the team in identifying and capturing new regional spend areas where Supply Chain can add value and drive cost savings related to bulk inventory, consumption, forecasting and procurement.
    • Support leads in the supplier relationship management process including but not limited to tracking supplier performance metrics, safety history and customer satisfaction metrics. 
    • Develop skills and abilities of direct and indirect reports through ongoing performance measurement and feedback.  Provide career guidance and act as a champion and mentor for all resources in supply chain organization. 
    • Accountable for all bulk inventory sourcing and procurement targets, metrics and key performance indicators for the region.
    • Responsible for the implementation of policies to support local companies in coordination with Community Relations.  Accountable for the implementation of contracting plan in line with the Social Responsibility strategy and actively participate in promoting better relations with the community and local associations.
    • Oversee the rationalization and selection of suppliers to optimize Nevada Gold Mines Bulk Inventory supply base.  Ensure strong working relationships with these suppliers are developed and maintained and provide direction to monitor and continually improve suppliers’ performance.  Review key agreement and contracts to protect and advance Nevada Gold Mines interests

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience. 
    • Minimum of eight (8) years of directly related procurement experience or equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary.  
    • Five (5) to seven (7) years of management experience – leading teams and having direct reports.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to complete procurement analysis such as market index price comparisons, should cost analysis, total cost of ownership, and bid analysis. 
    • Mining experience is preferred 
    • Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Projects and Visio. 
    • Knowledge of enterprise level software packages is necessary.  
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Collaboration and interaction is expected across the regional supply chain organization as well as across the operational areas of Nevada Gold Mines. Will work closely with Site Process managers to develop demand planning forecast and schedules
    • The position is currently located at the Elko Business office.
    • Position may be required to travel to and assist other domestic and international sites. 
    • Position will be required to complete on-call duties.
