Creates flowcharts, process maps, and diagrams. Additionally, Business Process Specialist supports cross-functional activities and working sessions during projects' design and implementation phases. Designs and prepares documentation, training materials, and communications supporting new processes. May deliver training to impacted business units. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Business Process Specialist work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters.     Position Summary:  Drive continuous improvement initiatives in Department 201 (mixing & stock prep) related to safety, productivity, cost, waste, quality and communications.           

    Reports to: Process Manager

    Essential Functions/Duties:                                                                                                                                         

    • Drive long term projects to completion.  Coordinate follow-up action items on improvement initiatives. Develop systems that assure initiatives and project improvements are sustained.                                      
    • Serve as a team leader on complex assignments by interfacing with supervisors, project and product engineering, training, Continuous Improvement, and hourly employees.                                
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement.  Lead continuous improvement initiatives in the Department.                      
    • Develop systems that assure the sustainability of process improvements.  Drive audit and follow-up systems.                                     
    • Partner with maintenance, engineering, works technical, production control and IT to drive process improvements such as flow of materials, changeovers, and start up times.   
    • Work with operators on the floor in identifying process improvement opportunities and understand issues.                     
    • Develop and implement plans to support team development addressing quality, waste, delivery and cost. Provide safe, ergonomically healthy environment and processes which comply with government and company standards.                       
    • Work with Area Managers to develop skill set required for managing at the floor level.  Coach and educate Area Managers in leading teams.                

                                                                           

    Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • BS Engineering or related technical discipline.
    • Minimum three years’ experience working in a high volume manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in a union environment is highly advantageous.
    • Specific experience in material mixing and component prep.
    • Flexibility in schedule availability is required to support continuous operations, including nights and weekends.
    • Will be utilized as Area Manager and Process Manager to fill certain vacancies
    • Requires the demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Ability to data mine and present information in a format that is clearly understood
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of HR functions, safety, budgets.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others.
    • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Demonstrated PC skills utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word and Access software applications.
