Being a Business Process Technology Consultant provides consultation regarding solutions planning, impact analysis, risk assessment, and budgeting. May provide financial analysis to determine ROI/ROA of proposed solutions. Additionally, Business Process Technology Consultant requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Process Technology Consultant occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Full-Time Faculty - Business Technology

  • Responsible for organizing and carrying out structured learning processes for students in the transfer and career technical education (CTE) courses.  In addition, instructors participate in the full range of professional and college-related activities including student advising, curriculum development, professional growth, departmental and college-wide meetings, committee activity, and community involvement.
     
    Supervision Received
    The Dean, in consultation with the Department Chair of Business Technology, is responsible for carrying out the evaluation of instructors under procedures developed by the Vice President of Student Learning and Success. The Dean confers with the Department Chair and Department Coordinator in decisions regarding instructor workload, professional growth, retention, and department staffing levels.


    1. Instructs students in a classroom, online learning platform, lab, learning center, or other setting as appropriate. 
    2. Advises students on matters of program goals and course requirements; schedules office hours. Prepares, distributes, utilizes and updates instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and other devices as appropriate.
    3. Develops, communicates, and utilizes student assessment processes and instruments which are related to the stated objectives of the course, the department and the institution.
    4. Participates as a team member in department meetings and planning activities.
    5. Crafts meaningful curriculum that meets stated learning outcomes for multiple modalities. 
    6. Serves as a member of college-wide standing committees, screening committees, and other related activities as assigned.
    7. Participates in the development of the class schedule.  
    8. Engages in regular professional growth activity based on the objectives established in an approved professional growth plan.
    9. Represents the Business Technology Department and the College to the community, businesses, public agencies, and other organizations in a professional manner.           
    10. Responsible for departmental equipment and provides for security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate to the department.
    11. Performs other duties as assigned.
     
     Education:  A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related business area is required.
     
    Experience:  A minimum of one (1) year of documented, successful teaching experience is required. Community college teaching of business classes is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant full-time, non-teaching experience is required. 
     
    Licenses: For assignments requiring operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a valid Oregon Driver’s License and proof of an acceptable driving record are required. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).

    Knowledge of:  Contemporary knowledge of, but not limited to, the following business subjects: general business, Microsoft Office, technical writing, business English, business communications, business ethics, project management, supervision, marketing, personal finance, and writing a business plan is required.
     
    Extensive knowledge of the following: the subject area to be taught; computer applications for communication and learning, including, but not limited to, word processing, the Internet, online instruction, spreadsheets, and multi-media presentations; curriculum development; the contemporary community college mission, its role in higher education, and its diverse student population; the role of accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act; and different pedagogical methods, including lecture, group activity, discussion, online and individual instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles.
     
    Ability to:  Communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse students and staff; work collaboratively as a member of an academic department; demonstrate experience or potential for innovation and creativity in both the classroom and related educational duties, including the use of new technologies such as online instruction; demonstrate a commitment to professional standards and growth; incorporate current technology into instruction; demonstrate excitement and enthusiasm in teaching business classes; adapt to a variety of teaching situations, including lectures, group activities, individual instruction, and distance learning; work and interact effectively with staff, students, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds; participate in curriculum and program development; and participate in the student advising program and college-wide efforts to improve student retention and success.     Physical Demands of Position:  The physical demands listed below represent those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     Manual dexterity and coordination are required for less than half of the daily work period (about 40%) which is spent sitting while operating office equipment such as computers, keyboards, 10-key, telephones, and other standard office equipment.  While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, crouch, climb, balance, see, talk, hear, and manipulate objects. The position requires some mobility including the ability to move materials less than 5 pounds weekly, and 5-25 pounds occasionally, and 25-60 pounds rarely.  This position requires both verbal and written communication abilities.

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is primarily working indoors in an office environment.  The employee is not exposed to hazardous conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and lighting is adequate.This is a Full-Time Faculty position (100%, 10 months/year) in the Business Technology Department. Starting compensation will be in accordance with initial step placement per the current Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and the 2023-24 Full-Time Faculty salary schedule. Consideration will be given to experience and educational achievement.
