Fast Forward Sports Group, LLC is the ownership group for Minor League Baseball Clubs: the Akron RubberDucks (AA Affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians) and the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (AAA Affiliate of the Miami Marlins). This leadership role will oversee club level finances, provide guidance in implementing and upholding financial protocols aligned with the company's short and long-term business objectives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage and mentor club level finance team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
· Planning, implementing, and supervising the club level financial processes and procedures to maintain financial integrity and transparency. Review and develop internal controls to minimize financial risk, identify areas of opportunity to better safeguard assets and increase operational efficiency and accuracy.
· Overseeing the company’s financial audits, following proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives and making recommendations to the clubs and business stakeholders.
· Monitor budget performance, offering detailed variance analysis to aid decision-making. Develop and execute financial strategies, plans, and budgets that harmonize with organizational objectives.
· Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
· Oversee month end financial close and preparation of reporting to upper management within set time parameters.
· Ensuring that all accounting procedures are in compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
· Developing, analyzing, and interpreting statistical and accounting information to assess financial results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters relating to the financial effectiveness of the company.
· Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements.
· Prepare reports required by MLB related to performance of the clubs.
· Present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key insights and trends.
· Manage and perform other duties consistent with the role of accounting professional.
· Work closely with CFO on various projects as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance with 2 or more years of experience as an Accounting/Finance Manager or Supervisor.
· Skilled at understanding and identifying business and financial issues and opportunities to determine appropriate course of action and making sound decisions that are consistent with business goals, available facts and constraints.
· Proven experience in developing and implementing accounting and financial procedures that adhere to business processes, local and federal guidelines.
· Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze current business problems and implement recommended solutions.
· Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
· Excellent technical skills which include a mastery of excel, GAAP, and reporting.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
· Strong leadership, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for accuracy.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Ethical conduct and integrity.
· Adaptability to changing business environments.
· Enthusiastic self-starter and excels in autonomous work environments.
· Ability and willingness to travel approximately four to six times a year.
