Description
CM Services to Rehabilitate Park Water Systems
The purpose of the Panther Junction water distribution system improvements project is to replace the existing
aging distribution system and to upgrade it, as necessary, to meet current fire flow and Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulatory requirements. The scope of this project includes:
- Design water distribution system to meet fire flow and minimum pressure requirements through hydraulic modeling.
- Construct water distribution improvements including the rehabilitation of water storage tanks (interior and exterior), distribution piping, valves, service connections, flow meters, pressure reducing valves, sampling stations, and fire hydrants.
- Provide instrumentation and control improvements which includes but not limited to Supervisory Control
and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system updates, replacement of existing instrumentation, installation of
additional instrumentation for monitoring and process control and radio communication modifications.
SCADA system shall be designed to accommodate future system expansion for proposed SCADA
improvements in Chisos Basin and Oak Springs. SCADA and supporting equipment should allow for
integration between all locations (Chisos Basin, Oak Springs and Panther Junction). Sole sourcing may
be required. Coordinate improvements and equipment selection with Park staff, in consideration of Park
staff training and experience. SCADA design shall conform to the Department of the Interior Automated
Controls Design Standards found on the Workflows Website.
- Construct electrical improvements including back-up power to maintain operation of supply production to the area, lightning protection, and power for new equipment.
- Water meters shall be designed to accommodate and be integrated with future water meter improvements
in Chisos Basin and Oak Springs. Meters and supporting equipment should allow for integration between
all locations (Chisos Basin, Oak Springs and Panther Junction).
Rio Grande Village
- The purpose of the Rio Grande Village distribution system improvements is to connect two dead end branches of the existing distribution system with new piping to provide a looped distribution system. In
addition to the looped system, all meters in Rio Grande Village will be replaced. Water meters shall be
designed to accommodate future water meter improvements in Chisos Basin and Oak Springs. Meters
and supporting equipment should allow for integration between all locations (Chisos Basin, Oak Springs and Panther Junction).
Further Details
A CMR will be required at Rio Grande Village for approximately 4 months and a separate CMR will be required at Panther Junction for approximately 12 months. Both project areas will be completed concurrently. A commitment letter is required.
Housing for the CMR. The park has one RV trailer site in the Panther Junction area and one RV trailer site in the Rio Grande Village area. Includes Electric, Water, Sewer, and trash. Monthly costs are approximately $279.00 to be paid by the CMR. RV's should be no higher than 12 feet and around 30 feet. Ability to safely back the trailer is a must.
