You will play a critical role in working with the purchasing team to drive improvements throughout the supply chain and improving the operation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Purchases supplies, services or equipment required for general operations and production including those identified by Materials Resource Planning (MRP), and by the Production Team

• Uses the ERP system and other MRP tools to manage purchase requirements for best price and quantities
• Establishes relationship with new suppliers and vendors considering best price, quality, availability, and reliability
• Identify and deliver cost savings to meet department goals
• Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
• Follow up, track and expedite materials as needed
• Will need to develop good relationships with internal customers i.e. production supervisors to ensure ordered materials are not over running production staff

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct reports, but this role will assist with process controls and improvements in the purchasing department.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work while onsite are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm. Some overtime may be required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Knowledge of business systems including ERP/MRP required

• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required
