Cabinetmaker and Bench Carpenter jobs in Pasadena, CA

The paralegal will aid in monitoring the statute of limitations for the firm; draft and file government claims (state and federal); prepare lawsuits (form complaints via Westlaw Form Builder and long-form pleading complaints) and propound and respond to discovery. This position requires the ability to work under minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure, principles of spelling and grammar, and have the ability to meet deadlines under time constraints.

Job Duties:

• Monitoring statute of limitation dates for filing lawsuits and government claim deadlines
• Preparation of summons and complaints, statement of damages, applications for publication, guardian ad litem forms, etc.
• Preparation of government claims forms (state and federal)
• Drafting Declaration of Heirs
• Propounding and responding to discovery
• Calendar deadlines and ensure deadlines are not missed
• Order medical reports and organize case management statements
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• 5-7 years’ experience preparing and filing of lawsuits, putting lawsuits out for service and tracking statute of limitations deadlines
• Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
• Computer skills: Proficient in G-Suite, MS Office, Westlaw Form Builder and Adobe
• Filing documents with court via Odyssey

Salary: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
