Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. As the company continues to grow this position will too, allowing the opportunity to go into a managerial position that can lead a team of drafters. The Drafter will be responsible for creating site plans, construction plans and all necessary documentation to submit plan packages to various nearby City and County departments. (Including but not limited to San Jose, Los Altos, Santa Clara, Pacific Grove, Marina, Aptos, Santa Cruz, etc.) They would also help with changing and updating our homes with new innovation that allows for more green-focused building practices.
The Drafter’s primary focus will be on accessory dwelling units (ADUs), but they will also be responsible for other modular building projects as they arise. The Drafter needs to work well with the Framework First team, as well as our engineers, title 24 designers, HERS inspectors, state inspectors, and City/County permit centers. This position is for someone who believes in the potential of what modular home building can do and how we can optimize efficiency.
The Drafter’s objective is to efficiently submit building plans, quickly respond to plan corrections and ensure that the plans are approved before the project’s deadline. This will also include appropriately responding to requests for additional information that is needed during the permit process. With modular home building you’ll be able to see and learn the building processes up close and firsthand.
