Part-time Special Projects Associate
The Parents’ Campaign (TPC) seeks a highly professional person to manage a variety of projects and provide on-site (not remote) support for the management team on a part-time basis (15 hours per week in TPC’s office in downtown Jackson, Mississippi).
Responsibilities
The Special Projects Associate position may include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
· Assist in planning, organizing, and executing special events, such as town hall meetings, in-person and virtual advocacy trainings, and voter registration drives
· Provide professional-grade administrative support to Executive Director, Director of Communications, and Membership Team, including preparing high-quality, error-free presentation materials, correspondence, and other documents; ensure that all TPC communications present the image desired by The Parents' Campaign
· Assist in the maintenance of professional digital media platforms, including content updates on two websites
· Assist in the maintenance of member database, ensuring that member records are up-to-date and accurate
· Conduct secondary research on national and international education policies and create summary reports for legislators, education advocates, and others who request information from TPC
· Post or schedule approved* social media messages
*All social media postings must be approved by the Executive Director or her/his designee prior to posting.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
· Minimum of an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree preferred, and five years of related experience
· Excellent computer skills, including the ability to fully utilize Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software
· Ability to learn easily and utilize website editors
· Superior judgment, strong communication and interpersonal skills, positive disposition, and professional demeanor
· Ability to move independently from one task to another and to assume responsibility for successful execution of tasks with little supervision
