  • Madison Village Police Department is seeking an individual for the position of Full Time Patrol Officer. MVPD serves the Village of Madison’s 3400 residents and business community. We are a community policing focused department consisting of 13 Full & Part time officers. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability and desire to work as a team towards the mission of the department.

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

    • Starting wage w/ min. 1 year full time police experience: $69,638 ($33.48/hr.)
    • Less than one year police experience starts at up to $66,518 ($31.98/hr.)
    • NEW CONTRACT COMING JANUARY 1, 2024
    • 12 hour shifts
    • 13 paid Holidays
    • Initial uniforms and equipment provided by employer
    • Annual cash clothing allowance payment $1000
    • Annual longevity payments up to $2000 / year
    • Annual education bonus for Associate/Bachelors degrees held
    • The above listed payments, along with other potential stipends can amount to additional yearly compensation of approx. $7400 over base wages in first year
    • Generous benefit package including health care / dental / vision / life insurance
    • Patrol Officers participate in the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F)
    • Patrol Officers operate under a collective bargaining agreement with OPBA

    MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum 21 yrs of age at time of appointment
    • US Citizen
    • Hold a current State of Ohio OPOTA certification as a Peace Officer
    • Possess a valid Ohio Driver License with satisfactory driving record
    • High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred
    • Knowledge of current law enforcement principals, procedures, and techniques
    • Ability to perform work requiring good physical condition, communicate effectively orally and in writing, establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, peers and supervisors, exercise sound judgment and perform during stressful situations
    • Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, physical, psychological, and drug screen
