    Summary: Montana Technological University seeks an innovative and collaborative individual to serve as the next Director of Campus Life. The Director will provide oversight for all staff, operations, and strategic planning within the Student Union and will cultivate an environment that enhances the student experience and sense of belonging.

    DUTIES: • Provide leadership for all recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of professional, represented, and student staff within the Student Union Building, the Mill Building, and all related programs. • Provide strategic vision, direction, and support for internal/external conferencing activities within the Student Union Building, the Mill Building, and other applicable facilities. • Establish and practice efficient and fiscally responsible business practices to maximize conference revenue generation, including pricing structures, contract/billing processes, and scheduling. • Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities and programming related needs for the Associated Students of Montana Tech (ASMT) and assist with logistical planning for their programming. • Serve as the primary risk management advisor for conferencing and student club events and assist groups with creating risk management plans to mitigate risk. • Provide vision and direction for the comprehensive new student orientation program, student leadership programs, community service opportunities, and campus traditions. • Lead the distribution and administration of the Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) survey tool every two years. • Manage and oversee all department budgets. • Emphasize a department that centers the Montana Tech values and brand, demonstrates positive customer service, and strives for continuous improvement. • Collaborate closely with campus partners, including but not limited to, Facilities, Dining Services, Residence Life, Outdoor Recreation and Wellness, Campus Security, Career Services, Athletics, and the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE). • Collect data and prepare reports as appropriate to measure outcomes and develop recommendations to enhance department effectiveness. • Assist with student affairs and campus-wide programs and initiatives as needed, including but not limited to, campus traditions, admissions events, and University committees. • Collaborate with the Dean of Students Office, Campus Security, Residence Life, Title IX, and community resources/partners to reinforce a culture of safety and accountability for students and all community members.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. • Demonstrated experience and ability to mentor, supervise, and lead a team. • One or more years of employment experience in a college student union, housing/residence life department, or related department within a higher education setting. • Demonstrated ability to creatively plan, organize, and execute events. • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Master’s degree in student affairs/higher education or related field. • Ability to demonstrate genuine empathy and care for students, their challenges, and their success.
