Planner - San Marcos, CA- DRD/Bio-Techne

Full compensation for this role is $57-85K annual bonus percentage and benefits.

Summary:  Performs tasks of Planner in a Biotech / Reagents Manufacturing environment.  Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Management of special requirements of limited to moderate complexity for OEM customers and Branded products.
• The employee is expected to make decisions independently on routine customer or branded product orders of limited to moderate complexity.
• Develop schedule based on master production plan utilizing planning principles. 
• Assist Purchasing/Planning Manager with Customer Service, Marketing and Sales regarding OEM and Branded product planning.
• Communicate schedules, plans and expectations to all relevant stakeholders or teams.
• Perform rough cut capacity planning in coordination with manufacturing and production.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues of limited to moderate complexity situations independently.
• Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
• Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Working knowledge of an ERP system (preferably Macola ES).
• Work experience in Medical Device Mfg. or Reagents.
• Working knowledge of Smartsheet, Excel, and relevant MS Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
• Knowledge of workflow and scheduling.
• Knowledge of inventory control and planning, inventory database and lot numbering system.
• Knowledge of planning techniques and capacity levels.
• Requires flexibility with frequent changes, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to communicate professionally, both orally and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Buying experience preferred
• The employee must be able to work on-site at the business location

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree with 2 to 4 years’ Buyer / Planner experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, Supply Chain Management with 2 years of experience
• 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Manufacturing/Production planning with APICS certification preferred but not required
