Non-Residential Case Manager

  • Clarksville Area Urban Ministries’ SafeHouse program provides residential and non-residential services to Survivors of Domestic Violence. We are looking for a trauma informed and empathetic Non-Residential Case Manager to join our diverse and inclusive team.

    BASIC FUNCTION: Maintains primary responsibility for managing all aspects of an individual’s or family’s case plan for safety, healing and transitional goals. Ensures a safe, consistent, and trauma informed response to program participants. Engages in community awareness and education.

    REPORTS TO: SafeHouse Non-Residential Program Manager, or SafeHouse Program Director in the absence of the Non-Residential Program Manager.

    PURPOSE: To provide support and advocacy to Non-Residential Survivors who request case management and supportive services, but do not need emergency shelter.

    HOURS OF WORK: This position generally works Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM (includes a clock out for a thirty-minute lunch). however, this position has on-call responsibilities and flexibility requirements to cover community events or Client needs that occur outside normal business hours, and general needs of the agency. In addition, attendance is required at monthly staff meetings.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree or higher in a human services related field preferred; however, education will be considered in combination with experience working with Survivors of Trauma. Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required. Knowledge of and sensitivity to Survivors of trauma and the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence. Openness to work in a diverse and inclusive environment. Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated communication skills, knowledge of community resources and the ability to respond calmly in crisis situations is imperative. A combination of education, training, work, and life experience will be considered.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides inclusive and trauma informed advocacy services to Survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including men, women, gender non-binary, LGBTQ , children, Survivors with disabilities and Survivors from historically marginalized populations.
    • Uses a Client centered approach to establish a service plan for each Non-Residential Client and their Children based on a needs assessment, safety planning and goals set by the Client.
    • Networks with other human service agencies and resources in the community to establish rapport and referral processes for the program and the Clients we serve.
    • Answers calls on the crisis hotline to assist Callers with information, referrals to community resources, safety planning and emotional support. Assesses Callers to determine if they are eligible for non-residential or residential services.
    • Completes new Non-Residential Client intake procedures.
    • Distributes monthly outcome surveys to Non-Residential Clients.
    • Facilitates Non-Residential group activities including support and psychoeducational groups.
    • Works in shelter as coverage is needed and ensures the safety and needs of the SafeHouse shelter, residents, and staff are met at all times. Provides crisis intervention to address any safety and security concerns immediately.
    • Ensures the shelter facility remains in a clean, sanitized, and organized fashion by completing cleaning and organizing tasks during shifts.
    • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds repeatedly, go up and down stairs, and push/pull furniture.
    • Maintains appropriate boundaries with staff and Clients and protects the confidentiality of the clients we serve.
    • Transports residential Clients to appointments necessary for their healing and transition goals.
    • Completes case notes to document service provisions in a timely manner compliant with agency policy.
    • Attends mandatory staff in-service events such as staff meetings and training as required unless prior arrangements have been made and approved by Non-Residential Program Manager.
    • Supports agency staff with community outreach events including Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Sexual Violence Awareness Month.
    • Additional duties as assigned by the Non-Residential Program Manager.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS: $35,568 annual salary. Paid leave and monthly stipend for health insurance available once new hire probationary period concludes.
