Assists management with labor-management issues and grievances through the preparation of reports or responses, frequently having advance knowledge of decisions rendered and actions proposed that may result in personnel actions. Uses word processing, database, and spreadsheet software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data. A qualified typist is required.
    Provides secretarial support to the office that includes:
    • Establishing and maintaining the general administrative and confidential files of all sensitive material for the manager relative to employees' files and personnel actions and labor-management relations issues and grievance files.
    • Setting up and maintaining automated and manual filing systems.
    • Preparing requisitions and training requests.
    • Scheduling meetings and conferences.
    • Arranging travel.
    • Preparing a variety of correspondence and reports using word processing software.
    • Controlling and following-up on all incoming correspondence and action documents.

    Qualifications

    Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service.
