Ceramics Engineer develops manufacturing processes and equipment for converting ceramics into useful products. Tests various combinations of materials to create ceramics that that are durable and economical. Being a Ceramics Engineer researches and selects the appropriate hand and power tools to be used in the production process. Tests finished ceramics to ensure quality, consistency, and durability standards have been met according to specifications. Additionally, Ceramics Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Ceramics Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Job Summary:

    The Ceramic Department Technician plays an important role to Lamothermic’s production operations. They work to keep the robotic shell maker running consistently and efficiently. They continuously strive to develop their skillset and have a respect for quality.

    Required Skills/Attributes:

    • Self-motivated
    • Reliable
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    Salary:

    $22.00 / Hour 

     

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED.

    Hours:

    • Normal Hours: 10:30 pm – 7:00am EST

    *This position requires training on 1st shift (6:30am - 3:00pm) for 2 months prior to starting 3rd shift.

     

    Responsibilities

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Load product into robotic dipping equipment.
    • Unload product from robotic dipping equipment.
    • Maintain material levels (Slurry tanks, sanders, etc.)
    • Monitor all aspects of the shelling environment (Temperature, Humidity, Robot Operation)
    • Maintain clean work environment.

     

    Secondary Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Operate Autoclave
    • Load and unload foundry ovens.
    • Assist in other areas on the facility.
