Certified Welding Inspector jobs in Columbus, GA

Contract Welding and Special Inspections, Inc. (CWSI) is seeking a full-time Certified Welding Inspector to be based out of Columbus, Ga. Position involves visual inspection of structural steel, including bolted and welded connections, field inspection and performing non-destructive testing. Other responsibilities include coordinating testing assignments on various projects, maintaining testing equipment, report preparation and field work including safely climbing steel structures like buildings, cell phone towers and water tanks to heights in excess of 200 feet. Position will require 50 hour work weeks (during periods of peak workload), as well as off-shift and weekend, as work required.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required; AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required; 3 years metals testing experience preferred; ICC Bolting certification preferred, but not required; Level II for UT, PT, MT certifications preferred, but not required; Willingness to travel and possible extended out-of-town projects; Ability to climb heights in excess of 200 feet; Experience in the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems.

Position Requirements Include:

American Welding Certification(CWI) or 2-4 year college degree

Must be insurable by company vehicle policy

Must pass back ground check and drug testing requirements
