Administers in many discreet fashions at crucial and crisis moments for patients and families. Functions as a calming presence, working compassionately and efficiently.
Education
Bachelor's Degree from and accredited college/university in pastoral ministry, theology, etc. is; or through a combination of a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field with significant ministry/pastoral care experience is essential.
Licensure/Certification
Ordained, endorsed, or recommended by one's ecclesiastical body is essential. This can be achieved within two years of employment with recommendation from one's ecclesiastical body. Must be able to be commissioned and bonded as a notary public within 90 days of hire. Consideration will be given to candidates without ordination, certification or licensure who exhibit extensive pastoral experience.
Other Qualifications
Requires computer skills sufficient to properly document services and care. Required technology skills include ability to use computer programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and company-specific software, internet, and cell phone.
Must be flexible in working hours and available on-call. Needs to be available by telephone and able to respond immediately when contacted by a hospital. If the situation is an emergency, must arrive at the hospital within 45 minutes. Includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Respect for all people and excellent documentation are essential.
