Join our team as the Deputy Project Manager for the Empower to Grow/7(j) Management & Technical Assistance (M&TA) Program. This program provides high-quality assistance and levels the playing field for 7(j) eligible small disadvantaged businesses (SDBs). Those that are owned and controlled by economically and socially disadvantaged individuals; located in areas of high unemployment or low income; owned by low-income individuals; and certified 8(a), HUBZone, or EDWOSB firms.
Essential Duties:
- Assist the Project Director in coordinating all programs, activities, coaching, and events to ensure the success of the project.
- Oversee the Project Coordinator to implement coordination of all programs, activities, coaching, and events to ensure the success of the project.
- Plan and oversee in-person events by securing venue and food, coordinating registrations, etc.
- Participate/Present/Host online Zoom Workshops with excellence, through audience engagement and working with presenters. Ensure speakers have information, practice if needed, prepare Catalyst intro slides, greet attendees, review chat, share Catalyst information, contact information, etc.
- Enter client information and data as needed to ensure records are accurate and log all counseling for client progress to be tracked in the CRM.
- Prepare reports for the Small Business Administration as required by grant or requested by SBA contact.
- Share programmatic calendar and coordinate marketing materials to promote 7(j) programs.
- Provide coaching, access needs, and coordinate specific coaching. Provide follow-up to assist them in the growth and success of their business.
- Develop relationships and recruit sponsors, speakers, and other stakeholders for 7(j) programs.
- Manage participant feedback procedures for all programs, and respond if necessary.
- Attend and support project meetings, networking events, and other business events, as needed.
- Provide radical hospitality and excellent customer service to ensure client retention.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- College degree preferred or at least three years of compatible work experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) proficiency is required.
- Government contracting experience is STRONGLY desired.
- Project Management skills preferred. Event planning is a plus, but not required.
Communication:
- Ability to communicate well-listening, verbal, and written mediums
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to simultaneously deal with a diverse group of external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts
- Commitment to keeping management informed of activities and any significant problems
- Utilize virtual platforms
