Performs a variety of chemical tests using instrumental methods and standard test equipment. Being a Chemical Technician prepares materials for laboratory examination and conducts quality, safety, and compliance assessments. Follows established SOPs. Additionally, Chemical Technician sets up and maintains lab equipment. Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results. Requires an associate degree in chemistry, science or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Chemical Technician works under moderate supervision. - Execute the synthesis of molecules in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.
- Ensure the production of high-quality and consistent compounds.
- Ability to handle large volumes of chemicals safely.
- Experience with basic laboratory techniques such as solvent and sample preparation, pipetting, sample filtration etc.
- Implement and follow a routine chemical synthesis schedule reaching monthly targets.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized laboratory space.
- Experience with aseptic filling techniques is desirable.
Process Optimization:- Collaborate with the R&D team to optimize synthesis processes.
- Identify key areas for process improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during production.
Quality Control:- Perform rigorous quality control tests on synthesized molecules.
- Document and report any deviations from quality standards.
- Experience working with quality assurance to resolve deviations is a plus.
GMP Compliance:- Adhere to GMP guidelines and protocols throughout the synthesis process.
- Participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines in the manufacturing environment.
Equipment Maintenance:- Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and address any equipment malfunctions promptly.
Documentation:- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all synthesis processes, including batch records and logbooks.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaboration:- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality control.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss production schedules and process improvements.
- Willingness to embrace versatility and adaptability in a dynamic startup environment is needed.
Qualification:- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
- 2 years experience in peptoid synthesis, particularly in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of GMP regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical or biotechnology products.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times and work in a chemical laboratory.
