Utilizes established methods and procedures and laboratory equipment to perform analytical testing of substances. Being a Chemist prepares compounds, reagents and solutions. Develop and write technical reports of testing results. Additionally, Chemist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Description:
Conduct testing of raw materials and/or finished pharmaceutical and biological products following established test procedures utilizing analytical instrumentation
Computer Data Acquisition Systems (CDAS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), CGMPs, Company Quality Standards and FDA/EU Guidelines.
Adhere to testing schedules to accomplish a high volume of critical work without compromising the integrity of the results.
Communicate effectively with lead analysts and colleagues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications:
o Experience in an analytical chemistry testing laboratory performing wet chemistry testing and instrumentation including HPLC, GC, AA and UV/Vis preferred.
o Working familiarity with Word and Excel required. Operational experience with Water’s Empower data acquisition preferred.
o Working knowledge of the US and European pharmacopeia preferred.
o Two-year degree in a science-based field with two or more year’s analytical chemistry laboratory experience.
o Preference given to applicants with BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry
o Knowledge of human error awareness/prevention
o Investigation and Problem Solving
