Chief Executive Officer - Physician Practice plans and directs the policies, objectives, and initiatives of one or more physician office sites. Responsible for the short- and long-term profitability and growth of the practice. Being a Chief Executive Officer - Physician Practice approves work procedures and standards for the units and ensures consistent implementation and enforcement. Represents the organization to investors, the industry, and the public. Additionally, Chief Executive Officer - Physician Practice may require a MD. May require State License to Practice Medicine. Typically reports to a board of directors. The Chief Executive Officer - Physician Practice manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate diagnosis codes (ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT)
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage for billing purposes
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on any denials or rejections
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues on unpaid claims
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in medical billing or related field preferred
- Certification in medical billing and coding (such as CPC or CCS) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
