    Job Description

    FHN Financial, a division of First Horizon Bank, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Information Officer (CIO) to advance the firm’s technology platform through the use of innovative solutions and a collaborative approach that ensures alignment with business objectives and rigorous compliance standards. The CIO will report to the FHN Financial COO/CFO and, as a player-coach, will lead a team of 30 professionals in the areas of application development, network infrastructure, data center and telecommunications.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring a seamless and compliant integration of new technology and solutions into the firm’s existing technology platform.
    • Spearhead initiatives to identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies, fostering a culture of innovation and staying ahead of industry trends.
    • Oversee the enhancement of our web-based platforms, ensuring a user-friendly and interactive experience for customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a robust and scalable technology infrastructure that supports the firm's growth and future requirements.
    • Lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors, ensuring the selection of partners aligned with the firm's strategic goals.
    • Establish processes for continuous monitoring of technology systems, performance metrics, and industry trends.
    • Implement and maintain robust IT risk management practices including cybersecurity and business resiliency/disaster recovery measures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safeguarding sensitive information, and interface with the First Horizon CIO to ensure alignment with overall corporate technology standards and priorities.
    • Ensure that IT audit and documentation standards are consistently met.
    • Oversee a team of professionals supporting network infrastructure, data center, telecommunications, and other hardware requirements.

     

    Qualifications

    • Candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technology-related field.
    • Minimum of ten years’ experience as a technology leader in the financial industry, preferably within a broker-dealer setting
    • Familiarity with and ability to implement emerging solutions, including AI, machine learning, algorithmic trading, and data architecture and intelligence.
    • Strong project management skills, with ability to collaborate across a diverse group of stakeholders and identify cost-effective solutions utilizing both in-house and external development resources.
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills
    • In-depth knowledge of financial systems, trading platforms, and regulatory compliance requirements
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals.
    • Familiarity with managing on-prem servers, cloud technology and storage area networks

    Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Nutanix, VMware and Agile development tools
