Chief Medical Officer directs the staff and develops policies for the organization's clinical programs. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Being a Chief Medical Officer oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulations and standards. Evaluates developments and innovations in medical care and makes recommendations for new practices and procedures. The Chief Operating Officer is accountable for the effective operation, administration
and evaluation of all hospital services, operations and facilities management, new systems and programs
which ensure the highest level of quality service is provided to patients and employees.
Act as a leader of the System in the absence of the CEO, within predetermined parameters.
Provides oversight and coordination of the human resources and information systems departments in
collaboration with the Vice President of Human Resources and the Chief of Information Systems Officer.
Support and provide the leadership for the ARH System Centers Administrators in order to achieve the
System’s philosophy, mission and strategy.
Represents the System in community events.
Assist the CEO with various projects.
Perform other assigned duties as required.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced degree in business administration or related field.
Minimum of ten (10) years experience in a senior level position in a health care facility.
POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess physical ability to endure prolonged sitting; moderate walking; lifting and carrying. May
require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently; and/or
a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of
those for sedentary work.
