As the Chief of Staff, you will be reporting directly to the CEO. In this role, you will be accountable for providing strategic guidance and consultative support to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team of GuideOne. This will involve working cross-functionally and with all levels of leadership. In addition to providing strategic and consultative support and guidance, you will be responsible for leading and executing on a variety of projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Guidance and Consultative Support

• Work directly with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to prepare complex analysis and lead strategic projects and initiatives.
• Provide guidance and consultative support to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.
• Act as liaison, on behalf of the CEO or members of the Senior Leadership Team, to The Mutual Group and other vendors or partners.
• Responsible for the optimization of brand sponsorships through events, thought leadership, etc.
• Prepare internal communications on behalf of the CEO.
• May present information and updates to the GuideOne Board of Directors.
• May attend meetings and events on behalf of the CEO or members of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Manage one staff member.
• All other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Project management and Operational support

• Work with the CEO and other senior leadership to develop proposals and create materials as necessary (e.g., Board of Director decks, presentations to regulators, etc.).
• Accountable for delivery of project workstreams and outputs, managing team member inputs, and mentoring colleagues outside of specific projects.
• Identify, analyze, and improve upon business processes, including documentation of risk, etc.
• Act as change agent for the organization supporting GuideOne employees and leadership through projects and initiatives.
• Coordinate resources for the execution of projects or initiatives.
• Perform risk management reviews to minimize project risks.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Qualifications:

• 8 years of progressively responsible experience in the Insurance industry or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or related field preferred.
• 4 years project management, change management, or process management experience.
• 4 years experience in a consulting capacity preferred.
• Structured problem solver; gathering information, conducting analysis and preparing recommendations.
• Demonstrated success navigating ambiguity, going above/beyond traditional job descriptions to create impact, and taking ownership of the outcome.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of leadership across the organization.
• Must be able to work independently and be able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments.
