About James Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: We are a new start-up Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice in SE Idaho. We strive to provide honest, excellent, and cost effective care for our patients.
The position: At this time we are seeking 1-2 oral surgery assistants to become part of the James Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery team. Your main responsibilities will be to assist in the delivery of Oral and Maxillofacial surgical procedures. That being said, we are a new practice and you will be entering at the beginning of the growth of this practice. Position cross-training, flexibility with duties, and ownership will be expected of the team member. Initially, the position will be part-time (20-30 hours/week W/TH/F), however with time the practice will grow to needing additional help and full-time positions will be offered.
Experience: Ideally, the practice would greatly benefit from an assistant with experience in oral surgery and anesthesia. However, we are open to training the right person for the position.
Duties:
- Surgical assistant: The team member will assist the surgeon on all procedures completed in our outpatient surgical facility.
- Anesthesia assistant: The team member will help ensure the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia including but not limited to deep sedation and general anesthesia.
- Sterilization: The team member will ensure that all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintain compliance with infection control protocols.
- Patient advocate: At all times the assistant will do what is in the best interest of our patients, including education, pre & post-op care, and patient preparation.
- The list is not exhaustive, as we are a new practice and expect to have expanded duties. However, also expect to have an important role in shaping the future of our team and practice.
Compensation: It is important to the surgeon and office administration that our team members are well compensated for their service to our practice and patients. All team members serve critical roles in the practice and we believe that you should be compensated as such. Initially, the position offers an hourly wage of $18-22/hour depending on experience. As we grow and have success in the community, that success will be shared with our team members in the form of hourly compensation and benefits.
