Chief Radiologic Technologist oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Being a Chief Radiologic Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree in radiology. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - (R). Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief Radiologic Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Radiologic Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Essential Duties And Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures utilizing various imaging equipment to assist in diagnosis of disease and injuries.
    • Collaborate closely with radiologists to determine suitable radiographic techniques for diagnostic procedures.
    • Ensure all practices are compliant with department standards and align with safety regulations.
    • Provide exceptional care and service to patients throughout imaging procedures.
    • Contribute to the quality control and continuous improvement activities to ensure peak operational and clinical performance of the department.
    • Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent departmental needs.
    • Travel to off-site locations for radiographic or fluoroscopic procedures as needed.

    Minimum Position Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
    • Current California Radiologic Technologist License.
    • National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • At least one year of experience as a hospital-based radiologic technologist.
