The Better Business Bureau® (BBB®) is seeking an experienced, strategic, and visionary leader to serve as its President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will ensure BBB’s mission to foster trust in the marketplace and promote the highest standards of integrity and business ethics. This role requires a seasoned executive capable of leading a multifaceted organization, nurturing relationships with businesses, consumers, and the public, and advancing BBB’s role as a thought leader and advocate in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to develop goals, policies, and procedures for continued growth and to enhance the BBB’s impact, relevancy, and growth in the community.

• Operations Management: Oversee all operational functions, ensuring that programs, partnerships, and services align with the BBB’s mission and provide value to consumers and accredited businesses. Oversee all functional areas including marketing, finance, human resources, IT, and customer service. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and International Association of Better Business Bureaus standards.

• Financial Stewardship: Manage the organization’s financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring adherence to financial policies. Develop and implement financial strategies in collaboration with the Board to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.

• Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with business leaders, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to strengthen the BBB’s influence and advocacy.

• Brand Stewardship: Uphold and advance the BBB’s brand reputation as a trusted source of unbiased information and guidance for consumers and businesses.

• Team Leadership: Inspire, manage, and develop a diverse and skilled workforce, fostering a positive workplace with a culture of integrity, accountability, and commitment to the BBB’s mission.

• Innovation and Growth: Drive innovation in service offerings, digital tools, and outreach strategies to expand the BBB’s reach and adapt to changes in consumer and business behavior.

• Advocacy and Public Relations: Represent the BBB in public forums, media engagements, and community events, positioning the organization as an advocate for ethical business practices and consumer protection.



• Programming: Develop and supervise an effective program for Accredited Businesses, Accredited Business services, and retention with the guidance and assistance of the Board. Develop programs that serve the community's needs and enhance BBB's image. Develop programs that serve the needs of our Accredited Businesses, support non-dues revenue development, and enhance the value of Accreditation. Evaluate existing programs to improve delivery and increase effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications

• A college degree or equivalent experience is desirable.
• Willingness to participate in continual professional training provided by the BBB system.
• Management experience, particularly in administration, finances, marketing, and
• personnel.
• Ability to make decisions in accordance with short- and long-term planning.
• Working knowledge of electronic communications and data system.
• Strong leadership skills.
