Chief Ultrasound Technologist oversees Ultrasound Technologists and maintains the technical aspects of ultrasound services. Acts as a liaison between technologists, physicians and area support staff. Being a Chief Ultrasound Technologist suggests equipment modification and evaluates accuracy and quality of ultrasound images. May perform duties of Ultrasound Technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Ultrasound Technologist requires an associate degree in ultrasound technology. Requires Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential. Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a senior manager or director. The Chief Ultrasound Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Fairview Health Services is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology department at our M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center location in Wyoming, MN.
The Ultrasound Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient exam ordered. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all the members of the health care team.
Schedule: This position is a casual and will help with the needs of the department.

Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam.

Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols.
Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to radiologists.
Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety and demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility.
Ensures patient data integrity
Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, and status changes in a timely fashion.
Performs accurate image identification, record preparation, and digital image manipulation and archiving.
Assembles similar relevant exams and reports.
Documents initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelines.
