About Us
River Road Day Care North is a daycare and early learning center in Port Allen, LA. We accept students from 6 weeks to 5 years of age and school-age children for after-school care, holiday care, and summer camp.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. You will engage with children in various activities that promote their physical, emotional, and intellectual development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of childhood development and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
The ideal candidate has experience working with children. They are loving, caring, friendly, and energetic. They must be able to get down on a child's level to interact with them and meet children's needs throughout the day. They must be able to follow schedules and lesson plans and come up with fun activities throughout the day. We prefer people who want to form bonds with the children and communicate openly with parents. We find that this allows children and parents to give trust and more respect to their teachers.
The ideal candidate must be able to memorize and follow all the state rules and regulations regarding childcare. They are able to keep the classroom and bathroom organized and sanitized.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the safety of each child in your assigned classroom
- Maintaining organization and sanitization of classroom
- Maintaining accurate records
- Follow lesson plans and classroom schedule
- Changing diapers, potty training, etc.
- Encouraging learning with planned activities, books, songs, etc
- Circle time
- Outdoor time- weather permitting
- Daily assigned chore (such as deep cleaning toys, taking out trash, vacuuming, etc.)
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- No weekends
Experience:
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Required)
- First Aid Certification (Required)
