Child Life Program Director jobs in Chicago, IL

We are seeking an experienced Director for our Child Program. Our Child program works with patients ages 7 - 14 at both the PHP and IOP levels of care.

As a Director you’ll lead a designated clinical team, while continuing to participate in active patient care. If you are passionate about helping other clinicians grow, and concurrently being given the opportunity to remain an expert in your clinical skills, you would be a great addition to our team.

Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.

What You’ll Do:

• Providing direct managerial oversight to Associate Directors, Primary Therapists, Family Therapists, and Group/Milieu Therapists as needed
• Leading the day-to-day execution of policies and procedures as well as the mission and objectives of Compass
• Responsible for staff engagement with and implementation of Compass Care Principles, including but not limited to Access to Care, Patient and Family Engagement, and Optimal Patient Outcomes
• Identifying hiring/staffing needs and participating in interviewing and hiring process
• Ensuring the execution of new hire onboarding and ongoing staff development
• Managing program paid time off to ensure adequate staffing
• Managing Program Intake schedule with assistance from Senior Director
• Responding to clinical crises as needed and coordinating response of others
• Development and implementation of program material and curriculum
• Participating in community outreach
• Overseeing calls about program eligibility and appropriateness. Ensuring referrals are provided as needed
• Conducting clinical intakes to identify clinical diagnoses, functional impairment, personal strengths and make treatment recommendations
• Providing group, individual, and family therapy, as needed
• Communicating with patient’s family members or support system, as needed
• Coordinating care with patient’s outside providers to ensure continuity of care
• Assessing patient’s progress and need for higher level of care or discharge
• Engaging in frequent communication and collaboration with team members via rounds, EMR notes, emails, and face-to-face communication
• Charting progress of patients appropriately
• Participating in professional development activities
• Other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

• Master’s or Doctorate level clinician with one of the following licenses: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, or LCPC
• Experience developing and managing programs and clinical teams
• Experience supervising therapists, both licensed and seeing licensure
• Knowledge and experience of group dynamics utilizing CBT, ACT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, among other effective and efficacious treatments
• Experience with patients in crisis
• Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced and changing environment
• Experience with program target population in group and individual therapy settings
