Claims Analyst analyzes and reviews insurance claims for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility. Reviews claims for eligibility to be reimbursed. Being a Claims Analyst maintains updated records and prepares required documentation. Assists in controlling the cost of processing claims. Additionally, Claims Analyst contacts policyholders about claims and may provide information regarding the amount of benefits. May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Claims Analyst gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. SCOPE: Candidate will work in the claims department, analyzing delay claims brought against the State within a geographic region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the workload within the geographic region assigned to them independently and think critically to make contractual decisions.
REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or associates degree with 2 years’ experience in similar position, or 4 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction schedules required.
- Similar position/s must include contract, project management and scheduling experience. Estimating experience preferred, but not required.
- Must have a driver's license valid in New York State and reliable means of transportation.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate with all management levels.
- Must have exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Some NYS travel required.
JOB LOCATION: On-Site at the Poughkeepsie, NY Office

Poughkeepsie (/pəˈkɪpsi/ pə-KIP-see), officially the City of Poughkeepsie, is a city in the state of New York, United States, which is the county seat of Dutchess County. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 32,736. Poughkeepsie is in the Hudson Valley midway between New York City and Albany, and is part of the New York metropolitan area.
