Position Summary:
The QA/SD Coordinator is responsible for Quality Assessment and Improvement reporting and Staff Development for multiple facilities managed by Pioneer Health Care Management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to mandatory quality indicator monitoring and reporting, designing and providing educational activities for all staff members with the goal of assuring compliance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that are required and directed to ensure the highest quality of care for the residents/patients.
Core Responsibilities:
· Identifies essential competencies for licensed and non- licensed staff with the department of nursing as assures appropriate educational opportunities exist to promote the growth and the development of staff.
· Provides orientation for new staff including didactic content, psychomotor content, and precepted clinical orientation to facility processes.
· Administers mandatory annual learning for all facility staff members.
· Supports regulatory survey preparedness and Plans of Correction through targeted educational activities.
· Supports facility leadership to develop new clinical programs and enhance staff skill related to high risk/ high volume/ or problem-prone processes through staff education and training.
· Educate facility clinical leadership regarding infection data collection requirements and monitor for completeness of daily data collection.
· Educates facility staff on data collection requirements and processes to assure the integrity of data.
· Compiles data into reports for facility leadership and participates in facility QAPI meetings.
· Submits required regulatory agency quality data reports in a timely and complete manner.
· Uses quality data to identify educational opportunities for staff.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Minimum graduate from an accredited school or nursing
· Must hold a current State of Michigan RN License
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
· Three years nursing experience of which at least one must be critical care, LTACH or other similar specialty.
· Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
· Computer literacy skills including Word and basic mouse and keyboard operations. Electronic clinical documentation experience preferred.
