We are seeking an enthusiastic Insurance Collections Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for contacting and collecting on past due accounts receivables, managing denials, and appealing claims from various insurance payers. Essential Functions

- Reducing aged accounts receivable over 90 days.
- Analyzing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and correspondence to identify zero pays and underpayments.
- Following up with healthcare insurance companies on outstanding medical claims and appeals.
- Reviewing insurance cards, authorizations, and medical records.
- Verifying patient insurance eligibility.
- Maintaining open communication with the insurance verification team, billing department, and office support staff.
- Conducting collection actions and providing resolutions for complex accounts.
- Supplying supporting documentation for collection actions.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Required Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or an Associate's Degree or higher, or specialized training in medical collections preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical claims resolution and management.
- At least 1 year of experience collecting from government payers (Medicare & Medi-Cal) preferred.
- Ability to identify, research, and resolve payer denials.

This position operates in a professional office setting and may involve standard office equipment, such as laptops and smartphones.

- Standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects or controls, reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, with standard workdays from Monday through Friday. Hours may vary from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PST, with adjustments made for specific time zones. Weekend work is not required.
