Being a Clinical Data Specialist defines and tests new measures, validates data, and takes steps to automate and improve the data collection process. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Data Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Clinical Data Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Responsible for the data review, submission and validation necessary to support internal and external reporting requirements as well as organizational best practices and process improvement.

    Work Schedule: Full Time Days

    Responsibilities:
    Review patient medical records for required data elements and improvement opportunities.

    Identify potential areas of concern/interest; interpret trends and develop reports that display variances from established standards of care; summarize findings and draw conclusions; maintain ongoing variance reports and communicate findings to providers, improvement teams, and/or leadership in a timely manner.

    Partner with data analysts in designing new tools and reports to facilitate more efficient case finding, collection, analysis and distribution of outcomes.

    Provide education and mentoring to staff inside and outside the department regarding quality measures, national quality programs and registry outcome.

    Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

    The pay range for this position is: $24.11 - $36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
