Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Educator serves as a teacher, facilitator, and consultant, working collaboratively with nursing and hospital management to implement the educational goals and enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of nursing and other clinical staff. The Clinical Educator assesses needs, then plans, organizes, implements and evaluates education and training activities. REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 5 years of Acute Care, School, or Public Health
- BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
- ACLS from the American Heart Association within one year of employment
- American Heart Association Course Instructor for ACLS, PALS, PEARS, & BLS within one year of employment
PREFERRED:
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- 5 years of Staff Development/Education Background experience
