    Part of a national health system, the Director of Laboratory Services will work at a 200 bed community hospital, located in Alabama. This hospital is known for providing compassionate care to patients across an array of service lines from their emergency department and advanced surgical team to women services, in-house laboratory, and outpatient imaging centers. In addition to being a full-service acute care hospital, this facility is also known for their Accredited Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center. This hospital was recognized by the American Heart Association, receiving The Guidelines®- Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award 2023 and AFIB Gold Quality Achievement Award 2023.

    The Director of Laboratory Services will oversee the hospital’s Joint Commission accredited laboratory that operates 24/7 and provides a wide range of testing capabilities including bodily fluid analysis,, clinical chemistry, coagulation, microbiology, serology, and more, in addition to their blood bank. The Healthcare Director Laboratory Services will oversee strategic planning, budgets, and operational workflow for the department. The Director of Hospital Laboratory Services will be supported by 40 employees including Laboratory Managers, Supervisors, Specialized ASCP credentialed Medical Technologists, and ancillary staff. The Healthcare Director Laboratory Services will ensure the lab department is providing quality services, utilizing efficient processes, staffing accordingly, and ensuring the departments are maintaining hospital, state and federal compliance. 

    With the growth of the hospital, this health system is actively seeking an Director of Laboratory Services who is a demonstrated leader with previous experience overseeing a laboratory team within an acute care hospital, familiarity with growing Laboratory Services, preparing for upcoming accreditation and surveys, offers strong technical and analytical skills, and up to date with utilizing the latest technology and techniques. The Hospital Director of Lab should be a team-oriented individual who loves cross collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, building relationships, educating, and growing services.
