About the Role:

Join our dynamic team as an Administrative Specialist (Disbursements) where you'll be at the heart of our client accounting process. You'll help maintain accurate records, process payments, and ensure everything is up to date, all while working closely with our legal and accounting teams. Your efforts will directly support our mission of client advocacy and justice.

Position Details:

• Location: Onsite at our Downtown Charleston office (Parking provided!)
• Hours: 10:15 AM – 6:15 PM, Monday to Friday (Aligned with end-of-day banking functions)

Key Responsibilities:

• Quickly and accurately receive, verify, and scan incoming checks, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with our legal teams to ensure checks are applied correctly to cases or matters.
• Investigate and resolve any check application discrepancies.
• Use our CheckWriter and Salesforce (Litify) tools to manage checks.
• Keep ledgers balanced and records up to date.
• Ensure compliance with firm policies and accounting standards.
• Record and manage outgoing payments and coordinate approvals with legal staff.
• Assist in clearing liens from client accounts and maintain organized financial records.
• Prepare reports to support management and audits.
• Handle deposits, refunds, and fund reissues accurately and efficiently.
