The CMM Operator mounts or installs tools, attachments, fixtures, or work pieces on CMM. Operates CMM equipment to perform measurement, inspection, and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs. Being a CMM Operator documents and reports non-conforming materials as required. Performs in-process or final inspections. In addition, CMM Operator reads and interprets blueprints and specifications. May require an associate's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a CMM Operator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job Description
We are seeking a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator to join our team! You will help oversee operational activities and ensure excellent quality control.
Responsibilities:- Do CMM inspections on all parts in operation. (We have a Mitutoyo machine and a Keyence)
- Assist programmer and operator to troubleshoot and resolve CMM inspection issues
- Assist Quality manager to calibrate equipment
- Assist operators with specific finish issues that pertain to their parts
- Gather data for first article inspection reports
- Log and record readings for equipment and procedures
- High School diploma or GED required
- 3 years minimum experience with CNC manufacturing facility
- 1 year minimum experience with CMM operations
- Understand GD&T and be able to interpret engineering drawings
- Familiarity with plant tools and equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions and have good communication skills
