Job Summary:
In this position, you’ll prepare and present accurate bids to commercial properties throughout Southern California. You will be interacting and communicating with General Contractors, Designers, and Property Managers. You will work with some company generated leads, as well as using your own natural business development skills to bring on new business opportunities. This is an opportunity for you if you are a goal-oriented individual with a passion for closing deals and generating contracts. We will look for you to be involved in our business development as well as lead generating opportunities. You will need to become a significant participant in community building and networking activities.
Duties:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation
- Utilize software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, HeavyBid, and other industry-specific tools to prepare detailed estimates
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that outline project costs, timelines, and deliverables
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities for cost savings
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop strategies for effective cost control throughout the construction process
- People person. Must have the necessary People-to-People skills to communicate with Potential and Existing Clients. As well as communicating with Century team members / staff
- Strong negotiation skills
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing
- Continuously monitor market trends and industry developments to stay informed about changes in material costs, labor rates, and construction methods
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry
- Knowledge in all Microsoft Power Apps (Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc)
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoffs and Bluebeam
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to perform complex calculations quickly and accurately
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
- Familiarity with project management concepts and tools
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field (preferred)
Compensation Benefits:
- Salary: $75k to $85k
- Compensation will be performance driven with base salary, commission, and quarterly bonus potential.
