The Vice President of Human Resources (VP HR) at Samaritan Medical Center is a critically important member of the senior management team and reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer. The VP HR is responsible for the development, recommendation and implementation of a Strategic Human Resources Plan to meet the present and future human resources needs of the Samaritan system.
The VP HR provides strategic leadership in the areas of Employee Engagement,
Talent Acquisition and management, Organizational Effectiveness, HR Operations, Leadership Learning and Development, Total Rewards and Employee Health.
This executive level position will ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing wage and hour, labor relations, employee health and wellness, the Joint Commission and other federal, state and local requirements. The VP HR will champion the ethical and social conscience of healthcare operations. The incumbent will also be responsible for the strategic human resource planning to provide Samaritan with the most qualified talent available, and to position this organization as the area’s Employer of Choice.
The VP HR will oversee the education of leaders across the system to allow us to engage our staff and ensure our practices meet our mission and vision. The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment and strong leadership skills, to ensure that the improvement process within the facilities continues, that priorities are established, and that goals are met.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations, Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Minimum of ten (10) year, progressively responsible, administrative management experience in a hospital, with at least five years at Director Level. Experience as Vice President, Human Resources preferred. Experience in enhancing and/or developing and implementation of human resources policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. Experience in design, development and implementation of salary administration plans and benefit programs required. Extensive experience involving bargaining unit contract negotiations, interpreting contract language, grievance and arbitration, counseling management and interaction with bargaining unit representatives is required.
