    Supervises Indirect: 0

    Role: To ensure that required mortgage documentation is requested, reviewed timely and issues are addressed prior to final underwriting.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
    35% = Reviews residential loan application files to determine what documentation is required in accordance with product guidelines and credit union policies and procedures.

    15% = Communicates with mortgage loan originators and/or members to ensure understanding of what documentation is required.

    15% = Collects required documentation including ordering third party documents as applicable to each loan approval.

    10% = Acts as a liaison and subject matter expert to external members, internal members and third party vendors.

    10% = Verifies all documentation ensuring it is complete, accurate and in compliance with product guidelines, credit union policies, procedures, federal and state regulations.

    5% = Submits files to underwriter when appropriate.

    5% = Acts as a back-up to the mortgage loan closer.

    5% = Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Performance Measurements:
    1. To take full responsibility for your own success with no excuses and add comments to performance management system on a weekly basis.
    2. Complete set-up of file including organizing documents into appropriate tabs, verifying disclosures and ordering third party items then submit file for initial underwriting within 48 hours of receipt.
    3. Communicate conditions to loan originator and/or member within 24 hours of receipt of the file from initial underwriting. Work with loan originators and/or members to obtain required documentation.
    4. Verify documentation is complete, accurate and in compliance with product guidelines as well as credit union policies and procedures. Submit file for final underwriting within 48 hours of receipt of documentation for final condition.
    5. To continually update knowledge of credit union products, compliance, sales skills, and self
    improvement by completing online training courses, fully participating in individual and group
    training offered by credit union trainers, reading business related/self improvement books, and
    taking outside courses. To maintain working knowledge of all mortgage products and rates, both within the credit union and from the industry overall.
    6. To meet established expectations of ELGA's Core Factors including but not limited to Accountability, Attitude, Communication, Competence, Continuous Improvement & Innovation and Relationship Building.
    7. To support other associates and to take the initiative to offer help when needed.

    Knowledge and Skills:
    Experience : Minimum of six months of related mortgage experience. Mortgage processing experience preferred.

    Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

    Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

    Other Skills

    1.Must be registered with NMLS in accordance with the SAFE ACT.
    2.Must have good communication skills. Ten key calculator, typewriter and keyboard skills.
