Position Summary

We're seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Commercial Loan Officer. In this role, you will actively seek out new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with prospects and referral sources to drive commercial loan and deposit growth. Your efforts will be crucial in representing our organization and bringing in new business leads.

You will also identify opportunities for cross-selling and refer clients to appropriate departments. Your role will involve performing initial underwriting to assess creditworthiness and presenting loan requests for approval. You will negotiate loan terms, prepare documentation, and ensure that all loans are appropriately risk-rated.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture new banking relationships with business prospects while servicing an existing client base.
• Collaborate with branch partners to enhance sales efforts and cross-sell additional products and services.
• Build networks with key influencers like accountants and attorneys to generate business leads.
• Evaluate credit information and loan requests, recommending suitable loan structures to manage risk.
• Negotiate with underwriters and clients to optimize revenue and mitigate risk.
• Achieve sales targets, including loan production of \(4MM to \)8MM and deposit balance production of \(800M to \)2MM.
• Manage a portfolio of loans, including annual reviews and covenant compliance.
• Participate actively in business development activities and meet call targets and product sales goals.
• Identify clients’ banking needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Offer financial counseling and maintain high-quality customer service.
• Review loan pipelines with senior management and lead community and corporate events to generate additional sales opportunities.
• Analyze loan requests, negotiate terms, and oversee loan documentation and closings.
• Recommend risk ratings to accurately reflect potential risks.
• Assist in the collection of overdue loans and manage asset quality, including past dues, charge-offs, and non-accruals.
• Ensure confidentiality of customer and bank information.
• Support and promote community development initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications And Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
• Completion of formal lending or training programs is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial lending experience.
• Proficiency in underwriting and analyzing loan requests, with a strong understanding of loan structuring and regulations.
• Ability to attract and maintain commercial relationships.
• Knowledgeable in loan documentation and capable of managing complex credit requests.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
