Evaluates market conditions in order to maintain inventory levels and control costs. Being a Commodity Manager evaluates and recommends vendors. Manages ongoing relationships with suppliers. Additionally, Commodity Manager requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to top management. The Commodity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
