Commodity Manager implements a commodity procurement and inventory strategy that supports a company's manufacturing supply chain. Manages the policies and processes to purchase raw materials required to process and manufacture products, conduct research, or enable other business activities. Being a Commodity Manager monitors and analyzes the commodities market, global economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions. Identifies, evaluates, and monitors suppliers and develops relationships to provide reliable sourcing and ensure the quality and availability of required commodities. Additionally, Commodity Manager oversees bidding and contract negotiations to obtain the best pricing to meet commodity needs. Analyzes inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Commodity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Commodity Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • Applies accepted clinical nursing principles and practices to patient-care activities in the facility
    • Coordinates patient-care activities with surgeons and anesthesia providers to provide continuity of patient care

    • Assists Administrator to oversee all nursing activities during an emergency to verify that patient needs are met
    • Participates in primary care of patients as needed and oversees clinical areas to verify that patients' needs are met
    • Assists Administrator to enforce the implementation of nursing practice standards and licensing and accreditation rules/regulations to provide quality patient care
    • Recommends to Administrator any revision in patient-care policies and procedures as necessary to conform to accepted principles and practices
    • Respects patients' right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
    • Supervises care of the perioperative area and the equipment to ensure cleanliness, sterility, and operational ability at all times
    • Controls staff/patient traffic to help prevent infections


    Daily operations

    • Coordinates and monitors operational activities for effective and efficient management of daily operation; reports deficiencies to Leadership
    • Prepares daily personnel assignments and delegates duties according to experience and skill level to provide quality patient care
    • Assists in cross-training clinical staff to create a productive work environment for all clinical areas
    • Coordinates scheduling of procedures with scheduling personnel
    • Assists the Administrator in evaluating the performance of all operating room personnel and for assessing and continuously improving the quality of care and services
    • Observes performance of all OR staff members and provides feedback to Administrator
    • Ensures that staff implement established facility policies and procedures
    • Participates in designated committees
    • Analyzes clinical documentation to ensure facility's policies/procedures are followed
    • Serves as a Nelson among patients, families, nursing, and medical staff to coordinate quality patient care
    • Promotes harmonious relations and favorable attitudes among the healthcare team


    Qualifications

    • Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
    • Ability to promote favorable image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and general public.
    • Ability to make decisions and solve problems

    Requirements

    • Minimum BSN
    • RN with active license in appropriate state
    • ACLS and BLS certification
    • Healthcare supervisory experience
    • Evidence of leadership qualities
    • Strong ethical and moral character references
    • Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English

    Preferred

    • CNOR certification
    • ASC experience
    • Computer literacy
