Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. The employee must be highly competent and confident in a sales and service environment. Highly goal orientated. They must be able to be an integral part of, manage and lead a branch team to include working intently with fellow Customer Service Representatives and Customer Service Tellers. They must possess and exhibit a professional manner and excellent interpersonal skills. Position requires the employee to be cross-trained as a Customer Service Teller and be able to be cross-utilized based on the needs of the team and branch office. Must possess computer knowledge/programs, good typing skills, math skills, be a good listener and problem solver. Other services as needed such as Professional/Community Organization Participation and/or Membership, Notary, Signature Guarantee and NMLS registration.
This individual must have prior management experience or equivalent retail banking experience. Applicant must possess initiative, be a good listener, problem solver, excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal relationship skills. Be able to implement, plan and execute overall bank strategic goals. Effective at executing sales plans, conducting sales meetings, debriefs, coaching and dynamic team building. Applicant must be conducive to an environment of multiple priorities and rapid change. Maintain compliance to the policies and procedures of the company and the regulations of the financial services industry.

A Community Bank Manager is an important part of our Summit team and will embrace each employee’s expertise and contributions. They will be expected to inspire collaboration among co-workers and clients, assist others and be aware of what needs to be done and take action to improve the quality of service to our clients. They are expected to work closely with branch staff, HQ employees and others at Summit. The employee will be expected to work with all employees to maintain the safety and security of the branch. The Community Bank Manager will work closely with and coach retail branch staff. The Community Bank Manager will communicate and coordinate with Financial Consultant, Commercial Lenders, and Cash Management Representative employees to meet branch and referral goals. The Community Bank Manager will also work closely with the centralized loan processing department to make sure all loan applications are processed. The Community Bank Manager will build a collaborative partnership with their peer Community Bank Managers, all retail staff and the public relations/marketing department.
The Community Bank Manager will work closely with and report to the Area Manager/Market Manager.
